TB3034L for glass bonding : an aesthetic necessity
02/02/2026

Glass is present everywhere : on our tables, on our noses, in our homes, and in many of today’s cosmetic and premium designs. Appreciated for its transparency, elegance, and inertness, glass is a material of choice in sectors such as cosmetics, luxury packaging, electronics, and decorative applications.
Despite its widespread use, bonding glass remains a technical challenge. The bonding solution must combine strong adhesion with perfect aesthetics, which is often difficult to achieve. In most applications, the adhesive must be transparent or optically clear, whether for glass-to-glass assemblies or for bonding glass with other materials such as metal, PA12, or PMMA. Any visible bond line, discoloration, or defect can directly impact the perceived quality of the final product.
The challenges of bonding glass
In the cosmetic industry, glass bottles, especially perfume bottles, often require the bonding of decorative elements directly onto the glass surface. These decorations can be made of various materials, including metal frettes, PA12 components, or PMMA parts, all of which must maintain a flawless aesthetic finish. The adhesive must therefore ensure compatibility with different substrates while remaining invisible to the end user.
In addition, cosmetic glass packaging is frequently exposed to humid environments, such as bathrooms. As a result, the adhesive used must demonstrate excellent adhesion strength and long-term durability under moisture and humidity. Loss of adhesion or degradation over time is not acceptable in such high-end applications.
Finally, because glass is transparent, the adhesive itself must also be transparent for aesthetic reasons. However, transparent resins are often more sensitive to UV exposure and direct light, which can cause yellowing over time. This discoloration can become a major drawback, particularly for luxury and cosmetic products where visual appearance is a key differentiating factor.
TB3034L : a glass bonding UV resin
UV-curing adhesives, such as the ThreeBond 3000 series, are particularly well suited for glass bonding applications. Thanks to the transparency of glass, these adhesives can be easily and efficiently cured using UV light, allowing for fast processing and precise assembly.
ThreeBond UV adhesives offer high bonding strength, making them suitable for glass-to-glass bonding as well as for bonding glass with metal, PA12, or PMMA. They are designed to provide durable adhesion even in humid environments, while maintaining excellent optical clarity. This combination of performance and aesthetics makes UV adhesives an ideal solution for demanding glass bonding applications, especially in cosmetic and decorative industries.

TB3034L is one of our best glass bonding product. Solvent free, it is an acrylic based UV-LED curing resin, that can cure in a few seconds. With its fluorescent detection, it can easily be seen under specific emission, to ensure good application of the product.
It is high moisture and heat resistant, perfect for daily use of the finished product, and is transparent : which keep it almost invisible at sight. Perfect for bonding on cosmetic products. It can of course be used on other devices and in other application, as it is perfect to bond glass and metal.
