#Instant adhesive

What is instant adhesive?

The main component monomer reacts with the moisture on the surface of the substrate and rapidly cures and polymerizes (coalesces) to form a polymer, which is an adhesive that strongly adheres the substrates to each other.

Advantages of instant adhesive

Instant adhesives aren’t just “fast and strong.”

Adhesive strength for a wide range of substrates

“Material break” means that when force is applied, the material itself, not the adhesive part, breaks, meaning that the adhesive strength is particularly high.

Prevention of blooming

— IN ORDER TO PREVENT BLOOMING...

With general instant adhesives, the monomer that has protruded during bonding evaporates and reacts with the moisture in the air to form a polymer. The polymer adheres to the substrate and the surface is covered in white powder.
There are several ways to prevent this blooming phenomenon.

— COMBINE WITH USE OF A CURING ACTIVATOR

If the protruding part hardens faster, the reaction with moisture in the air can be avoided and blooming does not occur.

— USE OF PHOTO-CURING FUNCTION IMPARTING TYPE PRODUCT

ThreeBond was the first in the world to realize a product type that combines an instant adhesive with a photo-curing function.

— USE OF ODROLESS AND LOW BLOOMING TYPE PRODUCT

This type of instant adhesive is less likely to evaporate monomers and therefore less likely to cause blooming.

— USE OF APPLICATION EQUIPMENT

By using an application device, the amount can be controlled so that the adhesive does not squeeze out, and blooming can be prevented.

Applications

ThreeBond offers a wide range of adhesives.
As the product can bond a wide range of materials such as rubber, wood, and metal in a few seconds, it can also be used for DIY.

FAQ

It won't harden if I apply a lot...

Please pay attention to the application amount. The thinner the instant adhesive is, the shorter the curing time and the stronger the bond after curing. It is recommended to apply a small amount because it will whiten if a large amount is applied.

My fingers are glued together. What should I do now ?

Soak the adhered area in hot water and rub your fingers.
Please wear gloves when applying.

The product does not adhere to polypropylene or polyethylene.

By using a primer (ThreeBond7797 series), materials that are hard to bond can be adhered.

Is there a faster way to glue things ?

You can use fast-curing instant adhesives (ThreeBond7780 series) or curing accelerators (ThreeBond1796, ThreeBond7796 series). It is also known that if the substrate is warmed a little, it will adhere quickly.

Precautions for use

  • Keep product out of the reach of children.
  • If product gets into your eyes, it may damage your cornea, so use protective equipment such as eyeglasses and be careful not to splash product during use.
  • Instant adhesives cure even with heat or light, so they will last longer if they are properly sealed and stored in the refrigerator.
  • After bonding, the substrate may whiten, but this can be improved by taking the measures shown on the “Prevention of blooming” part.
